Dorothy Alice Morrison Grant

Dorothy Alice Morrison was born on August 8, 1936 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.  Her family moved to Philadelphia, PA.  After that they moved to Freehold, NJ where they settled permanently.  Dorothy attended Hudson Street Elementary School and Freehold High School.  After high school she was accepted to college in Trenton, NJ where she attended for one semester in 1954, after flunking out she joined the U.S. Marines where she served for a little over 1 year and then married Ronald Graham Grant from Kentucky on March 16, 1957.  In December of 1957 she had the first of her two children Elizabeth Aline.  After Ronald's discharge they moved back to Kentucky where they found the economy in very bad shape.  They then moved to Miami Florida where they added Susan Gayle Grant to the family in November of 1962.  Ronald Grant worked for Dade County until he was able to retire and at that point Dorothy left her job at the local savings and loan association and they moved to Gainesville, Florida.

Shortly after moving to Gainesville they found the cost of living far outreached what they had expected and then moved to Williston, Florida.  Their daughter Elizabeth gave them one grandson Ronny.  Their daughter Susan married at age 19 and divorced shortly after that.  She became a Miami-Dade police officer until she reached her 20 years and retired.  At this point in time Dot and Ron have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary and are still living in Williston, Fl.  Elizabeth Grant is married, living and working in Fort Myers, and Susan has moved to Williston to be closer to her parents.
